Hi, my name is Bianca from class 3CSC, and I had the opportunity to take part in this project, spending a month (from March 16th to April 16th) in Bratislava, Slovakia, attending the Stredná Odborná Škola Chemická.

During the first week, thanks to my very kind and helpful classmates, I was able to understand how to navigate a world that is very different from the one I’m used to. Here, I attended lessons in chemistry, mathematics, English, German, computer science, economics, and civics. I also spent a lot of time in the laboratories which, although smaller than ours, are fully equipped with everything necessary.

In addition, I was fortunate to be hosted by a kind and welcoming family who took me to visit many places, allowing me to appreciate Slovakia even more—from the capital to the Tatra Mountains. With my host siblings, I watched a football match of the Bratislava team, and with some classmates, I visited a beautiful castle that helped me dive even deeper into the history of the country.

From this amazing experience, I will definitely carry with me the values of a fascinating Slavic culture. In terms of learning, I’ve gained a much more fluent English, as well as new knowledge and methods in the field of chemistry.
